First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests a 30-minute treatment called PENS, where thin needles deliver gentle electrical current near the sciatic nerve. Researchers will compare it to standard TENS (skin patches), dry needling, and a placebo in 88 adults with long-term sciatica. The goal is to see if one session can quickly reduce pain and improve daily function, offering a drug-free option.
