First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests whether a treatment called Percutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (PENS), combined with exercise, can reduce long-term sciatica pain. 88 adults with chronic low-back related leg pain will be randomly assigned to receive PENS, TENS (skin patches), dry needling, or a placebo, all alongside a 6-week exercise program. Researchers will measure pain, disability, and quality of life for up to 6 months to see which approach works best.
