Schools test extra support to level the playing field for overweight teens
NCT ID NCT01688453
Summary
This study tested a school-based program to help overweight and obese teenagers manage their weight. It aimed to see if providing extra support—like motivational interviews, cooking classes, and activity funding—to teens from less advantaged backgrounds could give them the same benefits as a standard program gave to more advantaged teens. The trial involved over 1,600 high school students in France and measured changes in weight and health habits over two years.
