Students take charge to fight heart disease in their schools

Summary

This study tests a school program that teaches middle school students how to advocate for healthier food options and more opportunities for physical activity in their own schools. The goal is to see if empowering students to make these changes can improve their health and reduce risk factors for future heart disease. The program will be tested in 20 Texas middle schools with 500 students.
