Can some schizophrenia patients safely reduce their medication?
NCT ID NCT07152184
Summary
This study aims to find a safer way for stable schizophrenia patients to reduce their antipsychotic medication, as many request this but doctors lack clear guidelines. Researchers will test if a personalized approach, based on a patient's specific psychotic symptoms, makes dose reduction more successful. 288 adults with schizophrenia will be randomly assigned to either reduce their dose or continue their current treatment and followed for two years to see which group functions better in daily life.
