Scientists hunt for blood clues to a complex mental illness
NCT ID NCT07447960
Summary
This study aims to understand if two specific proteins in the blood are linked to schizoaffective disorder, a condition that involves both mood and psychotic symptoms. Researchers will compare blood levels of these proteins in 60 people with the disorder and 60 healthy volunteers. The goal is to see if these proteins can help explain the brain and immune system changes in the illness, not to test a new treatment.
