New device aims to save kidneys and lives in the ICU

Summary
This study tests a device called the Selective Cytopheretic Device (SCD) in ICU patients with sudden, severe kidney injury who are already on a kidney replacement machine. The goal is to see if adding SCD treatments for up to 10 days helps more patients survive and avoid long-term dialysis compared to standard care alone. About 339 adults aged 18-80 will take part across 30 US hospitals.
