First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests two ways to open blocked heart arteries without leaving a permanent metal implant. One uses a new scaffold that dissolves over time, the other uses a balloon coated with medicine. 150 patients will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments and followed for up to 5 years to see which works better at keeping arteries open.
