New hope for pancreatic cancer recurrence: targeted radiation trial underway
NCT ID NCT04881487
First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether adding targeted radiation therapy (SBRT) to standard care helps people with pancreatic cancer that has returned only in the original area live longer and feel better. About 174 adults whose cancer came back after surgery will be randomly assigned to get SBRT plus usual care or usual care alone. The main goal is to see if SBRT extends survival after recurrence, while also tracking quality of life and side effects.
