Muscle weakness before hip surgery may slow recovery in seniors
NCT ID NCT07429955
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looks at whether older adults (75+) with low muscle mass and strength before hip replacement surgery recover their independence more slowly. About 20 volunteers will have their muscle health measured before surgery and be followed for 6 months after. The goal is to learn if pre-surgery muscle weakness predicts slower recovery, which could help design better exercise and nutrition programs in the future.
