Scientists probe immune system clues in mysterious sarcoidosis disease

NCT ID NCT05916638

Summary

This research study aims to better understand how the immune system works in sarcoidosis, a disease that causes inflammation and lumps called granulomas. Researchers will compare blood and tissue samples from 100 people with sarcoidosis to samples from people with tuberculosis, which also causes granulomas. The goal is to learn what specific immune cells are doing wrong, which could eventually lead to new treatments.
