Can playing in sand before surgery calm kids and ease pain?
NCT ID NCT07433296
Summary
This study tested whether letting children play with sand before tonsillectomy surgery could help reduce their anxiety and pain. It involved 68 children aged 7 to 10, who were randomly assigned to either receive sand play therapy or standard care before their operation. Researchers measured the children's anxiety before surgery and their pain afterward to see if this simple, non-drug method made a difference.
