Same-Day surgery consent: rushed or ready?
NCT ID NCT07380035
First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looked at whether patients can freely agree to join a low-risk anesthesia research study on the same day as their surgery. 114 adults scheduled for day surgery were randomly invited to consent either days before or on the day of surgery. After surgery, questionnaires measured if they felt pressured. The goal is to understand if same-day consent is truly voluntary, which could help design future studies.
