Could a simple salt swap save your kidneys after surgery?

NCT ID NCT07062952

Summary

This study is testing whether switching to a special salt substitute can help protect kidney function in people who have had surgery to remove a kidney tumor. Researchers will compare patients using a potassium-enriched, low-sodium salt to those using regular table salt for one year after their operation. The main goal is to see if this simple dietary change can slow the decline in kidney function that often follows this type of surgery.
