NCT ID NCT02284711
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at whether removing the fallopian tubes (salpingectomy) during a hysterectomy affects a woman's egg supply (ovarian reserve). Researchers measured hormone levels and blood flow to the ovaries in 96 women before and after surgery. They also compared two different surgical tools—bipolar electricity and ultrasound—to see if one was gentler on the ovaries.
