Saliva secrets: can protein patterns spot mouth diseases early?

NCT ID NCT07416318

First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looked at saliva samples from 21 people: some with oral lichen planus, some with oral leukoplakia, and some healthy. The goal was to see if proteins in saliva are different between these groups. Researchers hope these differences could one day help doctors tell these two mouth conditions apart without a biopsy.
