Spit test for COVID? study compares ease and accuracy
NCT ID NCT04613310
Summary
This study aimed to find out if saliva tests are as good as the standard deep nasal swab for detecting COVID-19. Researchers compared four methods: lab PCR tests and rapid antigen tests, each using both saliva and nasal samples. They enrolled 949 adults with COVID-like symptoms to see which method was most effective at finding cases.
