Spit test for strep? study aims to replace uncomfortable throat swabs for kids

NCT ID NCT06473506

Summary

This study is testing whether a simple saliva sample can be used to diagnose strep throat, instead of the standard throat swab. Researchers are enrolling up to 200 children and teenagers to compare the accuracy of saliva testing against throat swab testing. The goal is to find a faster, easier, and more comfortable way to detect the infection, especially for children who find throat swabs difficult.
