Spit test could replace scary nose swabs for sick babies
NCT ID NCT07350291
Summary
This study is testing if a simple saliva sample can accurately diagnose respiratory infections in children under 2 years old, just as well as the current standard nose swab. It will involve 502 children, each providing both a saliva sample and a nose swab for comparison. The goal is to find a less stressful and painful way to get a reliable diagnosis for common childhood illnesses like bronchiolitis.
