Spit test could simplify diagnosis of serious hormone disorder

NCT ID NCT03974789

Summary

This study aims to see if a simple saliva test can accurately diagnose Cushing's syndrome, a condition where the body makes too much of the stress hormone cortisol. Researchers are comparing the new saliva test against current standard blood and urine tests in 380 patients. The goal is to find reliable cutoff levels for the saliva test to help doctors diagnose the condition more easily.
