NCT ID NCT05207995

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This early-phase study tested whether a new cell therapy is safe for people with type 1 diabetes. Researchers took immune cells from 32 participants, turned them into 'tolerogenic dendritic cells' in a lab, and gave them back to the patients. The goal was to see if these cells could calm the immune attack on the pancreas without causing serious side effects, potentially helping to control the disease long-term.
