New pneumonia vaccine trial aims to protect adults safely

Summary
This study tests a new pneumococcal vaccine (PG4) to see if it is safe and tolerable in adults. About 380 healthy adults will receive either the experimental vaccine, a similar vaccine, a standard vaccine, or a placebo. Participants will be monitored for side effects and give blood samples over up to 18 months.
