First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This early study tests a new stem cell transplant method for people with severe aplastic anemia whose disease has not responded to treatment or has returned. The approach uses a gentle chemotherapy-like regimen and specially processed donor stem cells from a partially matched family member. The goal is to see if the procedure is safe and possible to perform, with the hope of restoring healthy blood cell production.
