New combo treatment for bile duct cancer passes early safety check

NCT ID NCT06274879

First seen May 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a heat-based treatment (radiofrequency ablation) inside the bile duct is safe for people with advanced bile duct cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. About 36 participants will either get standard care (stent and chemotherapy) or standard care plus the heat treatment. The main goal is to see if the added procedure causes more serious side effects that force patients to stop their cancer therapy.
