First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether two types of prebiotics (GOS and a humanized version called hGOS) are safe and well-tolerated in 60 healthy adults. Participants took the prebiotics or a placebo daily for 4 weeks. Researchers tracked gut symptoms, changes in beneficial bacteria, and markers of inflammation to understand how these prebiotics affect gut health.
