Heat-Treated peanuts may offer safer allergy therapy
NCT ID NCT07439406
Summary
This study is testing whether using heat-treated (autoclaved) peanuts causes fewer allergic reactions during oral immunotherapy compared to regular peanuts. Children and adults aged 4-30 with confirmed peanut allergy will receive small, gradually increasing amounts of one type of peanut daily for 12 months. Researchers want to see if the heat-treated version is safer and better tolerated while still helping people build tolerance to peanuts.
