Scientists test 'Smart' painkiller that fights its own overdose
NCT ID NCT06500793
Summary
This early-stage study is testing a new version of the pain medication oxycodone. The new pill, called PF614-MPAR, contains a second ingredient meant to block the drug's effects if someone takes more than the prescribed dose by accident. Researchers will give single doses to 30 healthy volunteers to measure how the body processes the drug and check for safety.
