New biopsy technique aims to diagnose lung disease with fewer risks

NCT ID NCT07305220

Summary

This study is testing a less invasive way to get a tissue sample to diagnose interstitial lung disease (ILD). Researchers will compare a new ultrasound-guided biopsy done with local anesthesia to the standard surgical biopsy, which requires general anesthesia. The main goal is to see if the new method is safer and causes fewer serious complications, like lung collapse or bleeding, for the 15 patients in the study.
