ER nurses fight back against preventable infant deaths

NCT ID NCT07237360

First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a short, one-on-one talk with a specially trained nurse in the pediatric emergency room can help parents of babies under 6 months follow safe sleeping guidelines. The goal is to reduce the risk of sudden unexpected infant death (SUID), which still causes hundreds of preventable deaths each year in France. Researchers will compare how many babies are placed safely on their backs to sleep before and after the nurse's guidance.
