Back lift tested to make emergency vein access easier

NCT ID NCT06916741

Summary

This study is testing if placing a small gel pad under a patient's lower back (a sacral lift) makes a major leg vein larger and easier to see on an ultrasound scan. Researchers want to know if this simple technique could help doctors place emergency IV lines more quickly and successfully. They will compare ultrasound measurements of the vein with and without the lift in 35 adult emergency room patients.
