New airway device tested for laparoscopic surgery safety
NCT ID NCT07391969
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will test a new device called SaCo VLMA that helps patients breathe during laparoscopic surgery under general anesthesia. Researchers will compare it to other airway devices in 20 adults having short elective surgeries. They will measure how easy it is to place, how well it works, and any complications.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
SaCo VLMA (a new supraglottic airway device)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that the SaCo VLMA is a safe and effective option for airway management during laparoscopic surgery.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early-stage study with only 20 participants, so results may not apply widely. There is always a risk of complications with any airway device.
