NCT ID NCT07673640
First seen Jun 29, 2026 · Last updated Jul 02, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether a cream containing ruxolitinib (Opzelura) combined with corticosteroid injections or pills can improve facial vitiligo. It includes people aged 12 and older with active, non-segmental vitiligo affecting the face. Participants use the cream twice daily and take steroids for up to 24 weeks. The main goal is to see how many achieve at least 75% repigmentation of facial patches after 12 weeks.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- ruxolitinib phosphate cream (Opzelura) and corticosteroids (betamethasone injection or dexamethasone pills)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this combination could offer a more effective way to restore skin color in people with active facial vitiligo.
- What could go wrong
- This is a real-world study, not a tightly controlled trial, so results may be less clear. Side effects from the cream or steroids are possible, and not everyone may see improvement.
