First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to standard motor rehabilitation can improve movement and daily function in people who have had a first ischemic stroke. Sixty-six adults aged 18 to 80 with moderate arm or leg weakness will receive either real or sham rTMS combined with rehab. Researchers will measure changes in arm function, balance, mobility, and quality of life over six months.
