Brain zaps may ease Parkinson's slowness

NCT ID NCT07397377

First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called patterned repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (prTMS) can reduce bradykinesia (slowness of movement) in people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers will compare active stimulation to a sham (fake) stimulation in 27 adults with stable medication. The goal is to see if targeting the supplementary motor area can improve movement without drugs or surgery.
