First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests if a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called rTMS can reduce liver fat in people with MetALD, a liver disease linked to both alcohol and metabolic issues. 105 adults will be randomly assigned to receive personalized rTMS, standard rTMS, or a sham (placebo) treatment over 20 sessions. The goal is to see if targeting specific brain reward areas can improve liver health.
