First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether high-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) can improve balance in people with Parkinson's disease. Forty participants with mild to moderate Parkinson's will receive 12 sessions over four weeks. Researchers will measure changes in stability and fall risk using a special balance platform.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

High frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a non-drug way to improve balance and reduce fall risk in Parkinson's patients.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The treatment is non-invasive but may not produce lasting benefits.
