Brain zaps and mind games: new combo tackles depression

NCT ID NCT07636694

First seen Jun 15, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether pairing a non-invasive brain stimulation technique (rTMS) with a computer-based thinking exercise can reduce negative thought patterns and mild-to-moderate depression symptoms. About 180 adults with depression will receive either real or fake rTMS, combined with the computer task either at the same time or in separate sessions. Researchers will measure changes in thinking, mood, and brain activity to see which timing works best.
