Scientists test new nasal spray vaccine to protect babies from RSV

NCT ID NCT03596801

Summary

This early-stage study tested two versions of a new RSV vaccine given as nose drops in young children. The main goals were to check if the weakened virus in the vaccine was safe, if it caused a minor infection to trigger immunity, and how well children's immune systems responded. The study involved 60 children, split into groups based on whether they had previous RSV exposure, and compared the vaccines to a placebo.
