First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests a new vaccine to prevent respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections in adults aged 60 and older. RSV can cause serious lung disease in older people. The trial will involve 25,000 participants who will receive either the vaccine or a placebo, and researchers will track how many develop RSV-related lung infections over time. The goal is to see if the vaccine is safe, effective, and triggers a strong immune response.
