Common antibiotic could be key weapon against dangerous RSV in kids
NCT ID NCT05026749
Summary
This study is testing whether the antibiotic azithromycin can help children under 2 years old who are hospitalized in intensive care with severe RSV lung infections. Researchers want to see if the medicine helps kids breathe easier and get out of the hospital and ICU sooner. The trial will compare the drug to a placebo in 370 children at 10 pediatric hospitals.
