First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested whether giving the RSV vaccine (Abrysvo) and the shingles vaccine (Shingrix) at the same doctor's visit is safe and works as well as giving them separately. About 526 adults aged 50 and older took part. Researchers measured immune responses and tracked side effects like pain, fatigue, and fever for up to 4 months.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

RSV prefusion F subunit vaccine (Abrysvo) and herpes zoster subunit vaccine (Shingrix)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that getting both vaccines at the same visit is safe and effective, simplifying protection against RSV and shingles for older adults.

What could go wrong

This is a completed Phase 3 study, but results are not yet published. Combining vaccines may cause more side effects or slightly lower immune responses than giving them separately.
