New hope for Hard-to-Treat prostate cancer: RS-113 under study
NCT ID NCT07553988
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase 2 trial is testing three different doses of a new drug called RS-113 in 120 men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer, a type that has spread and no longer responds to standard hormone therapy. The study compares RS-113 to the current drug abiraterone to see which dose works best at slowing cancer growth and is safe. Participants also continue standard hormone therapy during the trial.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
RS-113 (also called L01069)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for men with advanced prostate cancer that has stopped responding to standard hormone therapy.
What could go wrong
This is a mid-stage trial with only 120 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug is still experimental, and side effects or lack of benefit are possible.
