New injection tested to shrink skin cancer before removal

NCT ID NCT05858229

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether injecting an experimental therapy called RP1 directly into skin cancer tumors can help shrink them before surgical removal. The trial will enroll up to 12 adults with resectable cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma to assess safety and see if the treatment eliminates cancer cells in the tissue later removed during surgery. Researchers aim to understand if this approach could improve outcomes for patients facing skin cancer surgery.
