Are routine post-surgery x-rays a waste of time and money?

NCT ID NCT07200557

Summary

This study looked back at nearly 1,000 patients who had spinal fusion surgery to see if the routine X-rays they got after their operation actually changed their treatment. Researchers wanted to find out how often these X-rays led to new tests or different treatments, or if they were mostly unnecessary. The goal is to help doctors decide when follow-up X-rays are truly needed, potentially reducing unnecessary radiation and healthcare costs.
