Heart drug tested to shield blood vessels from hidden injury

NCT ID NCT07192744

Summary

This small study explored whether a drug called rotigaptide could protect the lining of blood vessels from damage that sometimes happens when blood flow returns after being blocked. Researchers tested 12 healthy, non-smoking men by temporarily restricting and then restoring blood flow in their forearms, with and without the drug. The goal was to understand if this medication could help prevent additional injury to blood vessels after a heart attack or similar event.
