Could stem cells and PRP supercharge shoulder surgery healing?

NCT ID NCT07589478

First seen May 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether adding stem cells from the shoulder bursa and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) during rotator cuff repair surgery helps the tendon heal better. About 200 adults having arthroscopic surgery will be split into four groups: standard repair, repair plus stem cells, repair plus PRP, or repair plus both. Researchers will check shoulder function and use MRI to see if the tendon heals more completely over 12 months.
