Scientists search for genetic clues behind mysterious childhood obesity syndrome
NCT ID NCT02602769
Summary
This study aims to understand why children with a rare condition called ROHHAD syndrome develop extremely rapid and severe obesity. Researchers will study 12 children with ROHHAD and their close family members to look for differences in their cells' genetic activity and metabolism. The goal is to learn what causes the body's energy balance to go wrong, which could lead to better understanding in the future.
