New drug shows promise in halting rare cancer growth

Summary

This study tests a drug called rogaratinib in people with sarcoma or a rare type of GIST that have certain genetic changes. The drug works by blocking enzymes that help cancer cells grow. About 48 adults with advanced cancer that cannot be removed by surgery will take part. The goal is to see if the drug can shrink tumors or slow the disease.
