Robot surgeons vs. human hands: the battle for better knees

NCT ID NCT05290818

Summary

This study compares two types of knee replacement surgery for people with severe arthritis on the inner side of the knee. It tests whether a newer, robot-assisted partial knee replacement leads to better knee function and faster recovery than the traditional total knee replacement. About 160 participants will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two surgeries, and their recovery and knee function will be tracked for a year.
