Robotic 'Feeling' tested to make prostate surgery safer

NCT ID NCT07247175

Summary

This study is testing a new 'force feedback' feature in a robotic surgery system to see if it helps surgeons learn and perform prostate cancer removal more safely. Sixty men with localized prostate cancer will have their surgery performed with the 'touch' feature randomly turned on or off. Researchers will measure how much force the surgeon uses and how precisely they move the instruments to see if the new feature improves safety and the learning process.
